“For bigger cats” means a candidate worth assessing for size, not a guarantee of fit or safety. Check usable dimensions, the stated load limit and installation instructions.
Usable sleeping space, stretching height and door openings. We look for measurements that help you judge whether your cat will actually fit.
Stability, fixing requirements and the way parts attach matter. A heavy product is not automatically stable, and a load claim needs context.
Can the cover come off? Is it machine-washable or hand-wash only? Can you buy the part that wears out? We keep those answers separate.
Sisal rope, sisal fabric, paper rope and seagrass are different. We record what is disclosed and flag what still needs checking. No unsupported “chemical-free” claims.

a difference every day.
An outer bed diameter can include thick bolsters. Ask for the usable lying area and compare it with the way your cat actually sleeps.
For climbing furniture, check each perch, cubby entrance and gap between levels. One generous platform does not make the entire tree suitable for a larger cat.
Before buying a tree, look for the actual replacement post, mat or cushion—not just a promise that spares exist. Check the exact model and dimensions.
Record the replacement price and stockist. Repairability is useful only when the compatible part remains obtainable.
Separate wipe-clean frames, removable covers, hand-washable cushions and machine-washable fabrics. They are not interchangeable.
Check the care label for the exact variant, temperature and drying instructions. A removable cushion may still contain a filling that should not be soaked.
Finding well-made things for larger cats shouldn’t take endless tabs and a leap of faith. I wanted products that looked good at home, gave my cats enough room, and could be cleaned or repaired when they wore out.
